When you look at your elevator pitch, it should have these four key elements.
1. A “hook”
2. Conciseness
3. Energy
4. A Call To Action

Does Your Web Site Have A “Hook”?

A hook in your elevator pitch is that initial statement or question that piques the listener’s ear. What does your website have that grabs the attention of your visitor?

Is it a powerful headline?

An image that draws them in?

Most people that come to a website rarely come through the home page. They have been searching for something and your page showed up in the search engine results page (SERPs).

Each page page on your site needs a strong hook. Do they?

Is Your Web Concise?

Have your every hit the back button when you come to a page with blocks and blocks of text?

Do you find it easier to read short paragraphs or bullet lists? Most people do. If the topic requires a lot of explaining, make sure you use section headings or H2 tags to help identify each subsection.

Don’t be loquacious or verbose.

Is Your Site Up To Date?

There is a certain energy that is lacking from sites that have grown stagnant and stale.

You can get a feeling that the site was designed with the Ronco Rotisserie model of “set it and forget it”.

Do You Have A Call To Action Of Each Page?

Each page should have prompt some action from your reader. Sign up for a newsletter, filled out a contact form, register for a webinar, share the post via social share buttons, or leave a comment.
